Hi
Is it possible to use webkit or svg clip paths? I tried creating an empty column, then added a gutenberg image. I then tried editing the html to add an svg clip (exported from inkscape - works stand alone) but either it is not possible or I am going about it incorrectly
Many thanks
Hey,
This is something we haven't tested--SVG support in general in WordPress isn't very good. We had to add code to the C9 Admin Dashboard plugin just to allow uploading of SVGs.
You should be able to manipulate the SVG before uploading the file, I would think--do you have an idea of what you're trying to clip?

So sorry for the long delay in response. So many things I have been busy with.
In terms of SVG clipping, I was thinking, for example. I want to add a google 3d image of a building I designed. Would like to show it in context, but that also shows adjacent buildings which might take focus. So would like to add a semi-opaque mask to surrounding buildings, making them visually less important. Of course I can do this in Inkscape or similar, but would be nice to be able to edit the clip in Word Press.
The other use for SVG editing that I can think of would be making shapes, frames and separators.
Obviously this all involves a lot of client side scripting, just wondering/musing about the possibility
Thanks again for an amazing product
I've been wanting to have some sort of SVG editing/animating addon to C9, but there's a ton of complexity involved with it--especially crafting some sort of user interface around it so an end-user can figure out how it works.
Most of the time when we need more advanced animations or functionality from SVGs, we end up just coding it raw. We've done some animations and transitions with SVGs with the help of GreenSock, but it was always as part of a frontend build that was entirely coded and not interfaced with any sort of visual GUI.
If you are able to get some basic editing working in C9 somehow, I'd love to know how you did it!
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Hey Tim
Yes, alas I understand that what I am asking is essentially a bit of design software functionality.
I think I can achieve the results cropping in Inkscape or similar. Will keep you posted.
